Woman left seriously injured in violent assault in Dublin as gardai issue urgent appeal

A woman was left seriously injured following an assault in Dublin in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The frightening incident occurred between 4am and 5am on Dame street in Dublin city.

The woman aged in her 30s received serious injuries as a result and was taken to hospital where she is currently still being treated.

Now gardai have issued an appeal to the public for anyone who may have information in relation to the assault to come forward.

A Garda spokesman said :"Gardai at Pearse Street Garda Station investigating the serious assault of a female that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 25th April, 2021, in the Dublin 2 area, are appealing to the public for information.

"The assault occurred on Dame Street, Dublin 2, between 4am and 5am on Sunday, 25th April, 2021.

"The female, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She remains in hospital being treated for her injuries.

"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this assault to come forward and to any persons who may have been in the Dame Street area between 4am and 5am to contact Gardaí.

"Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who were travelling in the area at these times who have camera footage to make this footage available to Gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
