Woman left seriously injured and another hospitalised after 'being hit by car' in Glasgow

Two women were rushed to hospital after allegedly being hit by a car in Glasgow, with a man arrested in conneciton.

Emergency services were called to a service station close to the Great Western retail park on Great Western Road at around 1.20am on Sunday October 3.

A 22-year-old woman was left seriously injured and a 26-year-old woman also suffered a minor injury after a car allegedly collided with them.

Both women were taken to the nearby Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision involving a car and two pedestrians on Great Western Road in Glasgow around 1.20am on Sunday, 3 October.

“The incident happened near a service station approximately 300m east of the roundabout junction with Drumry Road.

“A 22-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and a 26-year-old woman suffered a minor injury. Both were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

“A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information relating to the crash can call 101, quoting incident 0291 of 3 October."
