It's not unusual for people to end up regretting tattoos they've had done, whether they got them inked on a whim during a night out, or they break up with their partner after getting their name tattooed.
But one woman on TikTok thought nothing could turn her off of her stylish pineapple tattoo - until she discovered the secret meaning behind the fruit.
Brittany Lewin, from the US, has a tattoo of a pineapple inside a triangle on her forearm which appears upside down when her arm is raised, and according to the Daily Star, she was in love with the ink before her best friend told her to Google the hidden code she'd unknowingly had inked.

As it turns out, upside-down pineapples are apparently a secret sign used by swingers to identify those on the lookout for a swinger party - while a pineapple placed on the porch or mailbox of a house also signifies a swinger party is currently going on inside.
Swingers also reportedly identify each other in public by opting for clothes that feature the tangy tropical fruit.
Brittany, who posts on TikTok under the username @b_brittanylewin, captioned her video: "When you realise you've made a mistake."

The woman also shared screenshots of the messages she exchanged with her friend, who initially asked her if her tattoo was of an upside-down pineapple - before hinting that she might want to Google the truth.
Her friend said: "It's still going to make me giggle, I only just found out what an upside-down pineapple means."
To which a panicked Brittany responded: "Wait what? Googling right now."
And while Brittany had no idea about the secret meaning of her tattoo, it seemed many people in her comments were well aware - and had been asking themselves whether or not she knew the truth.
One person said: "I’ve thought this every video I’ve seen of you. I just thought 'each to their own'."
While another added: "Every time I saw your tattoo I thought to myself, 'does she know?'"
And a third wrote: "I always thought you and your partner were just into some extra fun stuff. I'm sad that you didn't actually know."
