Woman left questioning if she's got the right dog after 'nightmare' visit to groomer

We've all experienced the pain of getting our hair done, and hating the finished look when the stylist holds up a mirror to show us the back.

Often we can do nothing more than wait until the hair grows back and swear that we'll never make the same mistake again.

And this is the situation one dog owner has found herself in, after taking her pet Goldendoodle to the groomer to have his fur trimmed and neatened up.

The dog, named Scout, belongs to a Tiktok user named Sarah, who posts under the username @inputcoffee.

In a viral video shared online, Sarah showed pictures of Scout's previous haircuts and then reveals the results of their recent trip to the groomer, when she was left questioning if she had the right dog.

Before and after photos show Scout previously had adorable curly fur, but this was all sheared off very short by the groomer.

Even the distinctive light brown fur on his ears was removed, leaving him unrecognisable.

Sarah says: "I took Scout to a new groomers and left with a new dog."

More than 251,000 people have since watched the clip, with it garnering over 19,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

Many people said the dog's new look had made them "gasp", while others urged Sarah to remember that it will "grow back".

One person wrote: "That poor puppy! They did him dirty."

Another replied: "When I tell you I gasped out loud..."

"Straight out of Resident Evil," proclaimed a third.

Someone else branded the whole thing a "nightmare".

Responding to viewers in the comments, Sarah added: "When he came home he kept barking at his reflection in the mirror, couldn't recognise himself."

She also joked he's "embarrassed" and that she was left "questioning herself" as to whether it really was Scout when she picked him up.

We'd have been confused too!
