Woman left offended as neighbour builds additional fence on top of hers

Having a fence around your house is important for most people - no matter how well you get on with your neighbours, you likely want some privacy when you're doing your own thing in your garden. One woman was left astounded, however, when she noticed that her neighbour had decided their one fence was not enough - instead building another fence on top of it to make it really high.

Sarah O'Neill Dowbakin was left confused and offended when the neighbour decided to take the dramatic step, joking in the TikTok video caption that she was going to go round to them and ask to borrow some sugar.

The video is hilariously set to the theme tune to Stranger Things, and shows the bizarre Jenga-style fence.

Wording over the top of the video reads: "POV: Your neighbours aren’t very ‘neighbourly’ and have decided to build a fence on top of the other fence." She followed it with a crying with laughter face.

In the caption, she even wrote a hashtag #NeighboursHateMe.

Someone wrote: "8ft to my right and 7ft to my left. It's not un-neighbourly. It's called privacy. Freedom to move in your own space without the awkward 'hello'."

Sarah responded: "I don't get a hello. I smile and they glare at me" followed by an awkward emoji.

Another wrote: "I'd say that's an indication that the experience of living next to you hasn't been a good one."

Sarah said: "What do you expect of a single mum of five?"

Antisocial neighbours began writing in the comments, saying they weren't a fan of awkward interactions with their neighbours either.

One wrote: "I would have done the same... not a fan of forced awkward interaction..."

"Trust me...it’s better this way", another joked.
