Woman left looking like Shrek one day before job interview after using face mask

While preparing for a job interview, you set out to look your best.

Whether it's over Zoom or in person, how you look on your big day plays an important part in whether you get a job or not.

So one woman was left begging for help after her attempt to relax with a face mask before the big day went very wrong.

The TikTok user, who goes by the name Kota, tried out a chlorophyll face mask - the latest beauty trend to go viral on TikTok.

You might remember the green compound from GCSE biology class - but aside from its sun-absorbing qualities, it helps nourish and feed the skin.

It is an antioxidant that helps protect the cells from damage and can reduce inflammation.

But it is *very green* and actually, not ideal to put straight on your face without mixing it with a cream, or it can stain....as this TikTok user found out.

She asked in the caption: "Job interview at Bank of America tomorrow, does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this off. Exfoliating did barely anything, I'm still green #help."

She explained: "I just saw so many TikTok's about chlorophyll and people saying it's just good for so many things.

"And I have issues with my skin, so maybe putting on chlorophyll on it will work. I looked it up and it says you just have to rub it in your skin a little bit as it can make your face kind of green.

While rubbing her face to show how it wasn't disappearing, she added: "But when you rub it in, it will go away and I'm just having a difficult time rubbing it in.

"So I just want to say I'm trying to rub it off right now, these are my fingers and it won't come off."

After scrubbing her face, she was left with a very green face - which reminded some of the famous green ogre Shrek.

The video left people in hysterics and racked up more than 240,000 views.

One viewer joked: "Nah bestie, we try thing out after we're hired."

Another referenced the Mighty Boosh character, adding: "Ms Old Greg I think you will nail that interview."

A third asked: "What in the Old Greg?"
