Detectives have launched an urgent appeal after a woman was left with life-threatening injuries in a crash with a motorbike in Trafalgar Square.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 9.20pm on Saturday following reports of a collision near the junction with Spring Gardens in central London.

Officers attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, was rushed to hospital where she remains in a critical condition. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The motorcyclist failed to stop at the scene and is still being hunted by police.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now leading the probe and are urging witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who saw what happened, has dashcam footage or any information about the rider is asked to call 0207 175 0754 quoting ref 7277/28MAR26.
