Woman leaves people in stitches with cheeky response to army recruiter

How do you feel about running a mile?

One woman really didn't fancy it - and used it as an excuse when a U.S army recruiter got in touch to see if she was interested in joining the military.

Samantha Greco, 24, went viral on TikTok after she shared the conversation between her and a recruiter, who was trying to set up a time to chat.

They wrote: "Hello, I'm reaching out to ensure you received my message.

"Would you be interested in setting up a time to discuss the benefits the army has to offer?"

To join the US army, candidates have to pass a physical test - with women required to complete 19 push-ups, 53 sit-ups and two miles of running in 18 minutes and 54 seconds or less, according to Chron.

So the 24-year-old had a quick way to halt the recruiter's interest, as she bluntly replied: "I can not run a mile."

Her cheeky response left people in stitches and racked up more than 150,000 views.

One viewer joked: "'I have metal in my body and am flat-footed on my left foot' gets them away every time (and it's true)."

Another said: "I think he said something like 'I couldn't either when I joined'...AND?"

Samantha replied and explained: "He did. Like congrats on your journey but you probably don't have to wear a double sports bra like me."

Meanwhile, one woman was left shocked after she caught her fellow passenger on a plane fat-shaming her.

Landen Ewing, 22, was flying home when she caught the man sitting next to her texting rude comments about her weight.

She posted a clip on TikTok, which has been viewed more than one million times, describing the bizarre encounter.

Recounting the incident, she said: "Imagine if it had been someone who was super-insecure or dealing with a lot of body image stuff and they saw him text that about them."
