When it comes to switching up your look with a trip to the hairdressers or to a nail bar, it can be easy for the design you describe to your stylist to come out differently from how you'd imagined - leaving you with a style disaster on your hands.
One woman on TikTok who knows that feeling all too well is Rowie Kiel, from Australia, who was recently left disappointed when she asked her nail technician for red French tips but got something completely different.
Rowie shared a video in which she walked through her nail bar visit and pointed out the various red flags that she should have spotted along the way - but at the time she was too busy "trusting the process" to pick up on them.

She explained: "Oh my god, you guys. So I got my nails done today. This is my nails before, and this is what I wanted, and yes - I do bite my nails.
"This was the first red flag. The colour was pink but I thought that after a few coats it might be red."
The woman - who posts under the username @rowiekiel - then detailed how her technician got the colour onto the nails, which set off more alarm bells in her head as she thought he would just delicately paint the colour onto the tip.
She added: "I didn't know this because I don't usually get tips, I usually just go full colour, but look at what they do! Did anyone else know that? They literally just dip the nail into the colour.
"This is me trying to trust the process, but there is no comeback from this. No coming back."
Rowie didn't even have the style of nail she asked for, as although she wanted SNS - which is a type of dip powder manicure - she received acrylic nails, and was left unhappy with the results.
Revealing what her nails looked like at the end of the process, she said: "He told me to put my nails in the setter and I didn't even want acrylics. I asked for SNS, but he talked me into getting acrylics - and look how f***ing disgusting they are.
"How embarrassing! They've got bubbles in them. Okay, they're not disgusting, but they're not what I asked for and it's nothing like the photo. F**k my life."
And people in the comments of Rowie's video sympathised with her, as one even branded her nails "horrendous" and said they would have "cried" if it had happened to them.
They said: "Oh my god, they're horrendous. I'm so sorry. It's okay, they're only a short term problem. I would've cried though."
While another added: "Oh no, you poor thing!"
And a third wrote: "Okay, they're pretty bad. But there’s no way you could have not had acrylic, you have no nails."
