Woman leaves Mini wrecked in huge M60 smash - she was three times over drink-drive limit

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after crashing a Mini on a motorway.

The Mini Cooper veered off the M60 at junction 6, near Sale, and into some trees on Monday evening.

The driver of the vehicle was breathalysed by police at the scene. She was more than three times over the legal drink-drive limit.

She was checked over by paramedics and then taken into custody.

GMP Traffic Tweeted: "Clockwise M60 at J6. One vehicle RTC where the female driver provided a roadside breathalyser reading of 109.

"She has been checked over by paramedics and is en route to custody.

"Fortunately no other vehicles involved and no injuries."

North West Motorway Police added: "Female driver has blown 109 at the scene.

"Legal limit is 35 Female will be checked over by ambulance before being taken to custody.

"No other persons involved."
