Woman leaps out of van after spotting a SPIDER and lets it roll into river

If you thought you were afraid of spiders , your phobia is probably nothing compared to one woman who physically jumped from her moving van to get away from one.

This lady found herself in a bit of a situation after spotting one of the eight-legged beasties on her lap and she saw no other alternative than to abandon her vehicle, subsequently letting it roll into a river.

The unnamed woman, from Georgia, USA, was reportedly trying to reverse her Kia van down a boat launch at the time, allowing her to put her kayak into the river.

But she was suddenly startled by the surprise appearance of the creepy crawly that she leapt out there and then, instead of stopping to properly park the vehicle, reports Atlanta Journal Constitution.

And as a result she ended up watching as the van rolled into the nearby Etowah River - a waterway around 164 miles long, reports Mirror Online .

Georgia State Patrol sent a state trooper out to the scene in the western part of Bartow County to assist the woman, but by the time they arrived, the van had floated off and slipped completely out of sight.

A spokesperson for the Georgia State Patrol said: "She stated that it floated downstream a few feet and within seconds, it was totally submerged. A passerby in a boat attempted to locate the van, but without success."

It is thought that the woman's insurance company are going to pay to have divers look in the river for the van to determine whether or not it can be salvaged.

The identity of the woman and the type of spider that caused the incident have yet to be revealed.
