Woman knocked to the ground and robbed of handbag in Hyson Green

A woman in her sixties was knocked to the ground and had her handbag stolen in broad daylight.

The incident happened on May 7, at around 4.35pm in Pleasant Row in Hyson Green.

While walking along the road, the victim was pushed to the ground by an offender who stole her handbag containing her bank cards, bus pass, and mobile phone.

The suspect fled in the direction of St Paul’s Terrace following the incident.

Later that day, a second man attempted to use the woman’s bank card at the Tesco store on Alfreton Road, Radford, as well as at several other stores in Hyson Green, Radford and the Bobbers Mill areas.

Detectives have now released CCTV of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the robbery.

Detective Constable Natasha Ullyatt from Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim but luckily she only came away from with minor injuries.

“We believe that one man carried out the attack and another man attempted to use the woman’s stolen bank cards and we are keen to identify the men in these pictures as we believe they will be able to help us with our enquiries.”

If you can help, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 528 of 7 May 2020.
