Woman knocked to ground in Gold Coast

A woman was beaten and knocked to the ground Thursday in the Gold Coast.

The 50-year-old told investigators she was walking on the sidewalk about 11 p.m. when someone hit her from behind and knocked her to the ground in the 100 block of North Inner Lake Shore Drive, according to Chicago police.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with “minor abrasions” to her face and arms, police said. Her condition was stabilized.

No one is in custody. Area Central detectives are investigating.
