PILIBHIT: A 45-year-old woman, identified as Jamuna Devi, was killed in Deshnagar locality in Pilibhit city under the jurisdiction of Pilibhit Kotwali police station on intervening night between Wednesday and Thursday. Her head was stabbed and hit with a hand pump handle installed in the courtyard, police said.
ASP Anil Yadav inspected the crime scene and the body was sent for autopsy. Police have recovered two kitchen knives and the hand pump handle from the spot.
Jamuna Devi's son, Rohit Lodhi (23), an employee in Bareilly rushed to Pilibhit on Thursday and filed a written complaint.
SHO Naresh Tyagi said, "Police have booked Vivek Lodhi and his three maternal uncles, Tula Ram, Ajay Lodhi and Shiv Kumar Lodhi, under IPC sections 302 (murder), 452 (house trespass), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 36 (effect caused partly by act and partly by omission)."
The key accused Vivek Lodhi (25), a resident of Kalibari locality in Bareilly city, has been arrested and the remaining three are on the run.
Jamuna Devi was living with her father since her separation from her husband. She had a dispute with the accused over the ownership of a small piece of land, measuring 5 square yards, in front of her parent's house, the police said. After a scuffle on Wednesday evening, the four accused threatened the victim of dire consequences. They entered the victim's house through the terrace after midnight and killed her. Her specially-abled father Premraj (67) could not listen to her screams and found her dead body at 5 am on Thursday.
