
A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Monday in Will County.
Authorities responded to a crash about 7:10 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 52 and County Line Road, Illinois State Police said.
According to preliminary information, a 2012 Ford Escape driven by a 17-year-old boy with a girl, 14, in the passenger seat was southbound on County Line Road and stopped at the intersection, state police said.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man was eastbound on Route 52 in a 2018 Jeep Wrangler with two women passengers, 27 and 54 years old, state police said.
The Ford failed to yield to oncoming traffic and entered the intersection, striking the Jeep and causing it to overturn multiple times, state police said.
The 27-year-old woman was ejected from the Jeep, state police said. She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The 17-year-old driver of the Ford was charged with failure to yield at a stop sign or oncoming traffic, state police said.
The Will County Crash Reconstruction Team and state police are investigating the crash.
