A woman was shot to death while sitting in a parked car in West Pullman on the South Side Wednesday night, about a mile from where a man was found shot to death a half-hour earlier.

The woman, whose age was unknown, was sitting in the car about 10:30 p.m. in the 12000 block of South Indiana Avenue when someone fired shots, Chicago police said.

She suffered gunshot wounds to the head and upper body, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Though the Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet identified her, an autopsy Friday ruled her death a homicide.

There were no witnesses to the shooting, police said. Police did not provide any additional details.

An hour earlier, officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert found 20-year-old Darius Fairley shot to death in the front yard of a home in the 12200 block of South Harvard Avenue. Police did not say if the two deaths were related.
