Waikato police have released the name of an American woman who was killed in a car crash near Matamata on Monday.
She was Donna Guo, 22, of Texas.
Miss Guo was a front seat passenger in the Hyundai vehicle her 59-year-old father was driving when it turned into the path of a fully laden logging truck on Monday morning.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Hopkins Rd and State Highway 29, which is also the turn-off to the Hobbiton Movie Set.
Waikato police Senior Sergeant Gill Meadows said Miss Guo's parents were still in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital.
