Woman killed in M5 crash will leave 'huge hole in the life' of her loved ones

A woman who was killed in a crash on the M5 week has ‘left a huge hole’ in the life of her loved ones, her family have said,

In an emotional tribute to Tracy Board, her family said she was devoted to her job working to try to get prisoners off drugs.

The 51-year-old died in a collision which happened on the M5 northbound between junction 12 for Hardwicke and 11A for Gloucester, on Thursday morning (January 2) at around 8.10am.

Ms Board was on her regular commute from her home in Quedgeley to HMP Hewell in the Midlands when the collision happened.

The crash and the subsequent investigation closed the M5 for much of Thursday.

Her family issued a statement paying tribute to Ms Board, who they described as their ‘beloved daughter, sister, auntie and great auntie’.

“Tracy, originally from Cwmbran, South Wales who lived in Quedgeley, Gloucester worked in HMP Hewell,” the statement said.

“She was a Psychosocial Lead within the Substance Misuse, Drug and Alcohol team, which she truly adored.

"Her work was her life and if she wasn’t working she was spending time with her family in Wales.

"Tracy has left a huge hole in the life of her loved ones and will be truly missed by all her family, friends and everyone whose life she touched,” they added.
