Woman killed in horror two-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire named by police

A woman who died after a crash between a car and a pick-up truck pulling a trailer has been named by police .

Yvonne Lumsden from New Deer, Aberdeenshire, was driving along the A948 Auchnagatt to Ellon road on Friday around 4pm when the incident happened.

Her white Volkswagen Polo collided with a white Mitsubishi L200 that was towing a twin axle trailer.

The 35-year-old died from her injuries.

A 33-year-old man and two children aged six and four were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not confirmed which vehicle they were in.

Sergeant Andy Meikleham said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Yvonne Lumsden at this difficult time.

"We have spoken to a number of witnesses but would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision, assisted with moving the trailer at the scene or saw either vehicle beforehand, and has not yet spoken to us, to please get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2945 of 12th July 2019."
