Woman killed in horror Dublin crash involving pedestrian, car and lorry

A woman has been killed in a horror crash involving a pedestrian, a car and a lorry in Dublin.

The shocking incident happened on the Phibsborough Road at around 1pm this afternoon.

The deceased, a female pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Those travelling in both the lorry and the car were uninjured.

The road is currently closed while a forensic investigation is carried out.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a lorry, a car and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 1pm on Saturday, 29th August, 2020, on the Phibsborough Road, Dublin 7.

"The female pedestrian (age unconfirmed at this time) was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the lorry and car were uninjured.

"The road is currently closed and Forensic Collision Investigators are at the scene. Local diversions are in place.

"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 6668600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
