Woman killed in horror crash between car and van in West Lothian named as Emma Kirkland

A woman killed in a horror crash between a car and a van has been named as Emma Kirkland.

The 37-year-old, from Armadale in West Lothian , passed away while driving on the A801 in Polmont between the Lathallan and Bowhouse roundabouts on Wednesday.

The collision between the Peugeot 208 car, driven by Emma, and a Renault Master van took place at around 3.45pm.

Cops and paramedics rushed to the crash however she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 30-year-old man who was driving the van was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital as a precaution, but was not seriously injured.

Inquiries into the full circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

Sergeant David Ross, from the Road Policing Unit in Stirling, said: "I would like to once again extend our deepest sympathies to Emma Kirkland's family and friends and ask that anyone who can assist with our investigation into this collision, contacts police immediately.

"In particular, those who believe they have dash-cam footage, which captures what happened, are urged to come forward."
