A woman was killed, and a woman was injured, in a hit-and-run crash Sunday in Wrigleyville on the North Side.

About 12:35 p.m., a BMW X3 was westbound on Addison Street, when it drove through a stop sign in the intersection of Addison and Fremont Streets, and struck two women who were in the crosswalk, Chicago police said.

One woman, 24, was rushed to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. She has not yet been identified.

The second woman, 28, was taken to the same hospital, where she is in good condition, police said.

The vehicle continued and drove onto the west side of the sidewalk and crashed into an iron fence in the 3500 block of North Fremont Street, police said. The driver and the passenger then got out and ran from the scene.

No arrests have been made as Chicago police’s Major Accident Unit is investigating.
