A woman, 35, was killed July 4, 2019 in the 4300 block of West Wilcox Street.

A woman was killed Thursday after struggling over a weapon with a male she had been drinking with, according to Chicago police.

About 1:30 a.m., the 35-year-old was drinking with a male inside a residence in the 4300 block of West Wilcox Street when someone pulled out a gun, police said. The two began to fight over the weapon and it discharged, striking the woman in the head.

The male is being questioned by Area North detectives, police said. Investigators are unsure who first pulled out the gun.
