Man charged over 'domestic-related' stabbing murder of wife in Sydney's east

A crime scene was established near the Prince of Wales Hospital.

A man has been charged with the murder of his wife after her body was found on a street in Sydney's east.

Emergency services were called to Barker Street around 8:45pm on Saturday night, after reports a woman had been stabbed.

Police found a 47-year-old woman unresponsive on nearby Easy Street, close to the Emergency entrance to the Prince of Wales hospital.

She had multiple stab wounds and was treated by paramedics but died at the scene from her injuries.

Crime scenes were established in both streets and police last night searched inside a station wagon.

Detectives were seen canvassing the area, including the hospital.

Police described the incident as "domestic-related".

The woman's husband, Mourad Kerollos, 60, from Panania, was arrested on Barker Street and taken to Maroubra police station, where he was later charged with murder.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court later on Sunday.
