A 42-year-old woman was killed instantly after a speeding truck hit a two-wheeler, near Ramanthapur in Uppal police limits here on Friday.
Police identified the victim as Borada Kamala, resident of Indranagar colony in Ramanthapur.
According to the police, the accident took place around 7.30 a.m. when Ms. Kamala along with her husband Punnagiri were on their scooter and proceeding to Cherlapally.
While they were reaching the Church Colony arch opposite NSL building, an overtaking truck rubbed against their scooter, as a result the two-wheeler lost control and both the rider and the pillion fell down.
The woman, who was riding pillion, was run over by the truck’s rear tyres, and she was killed instantly, police said. The whole incident was caught on a nearby CCTV unit.
Police said the truck bearing registration number AP 20 TA 9378 was seized and the driver was taken into custody. A probe was opened.
