A woman was repeatedly kicked and punched in the face during a violent attack which was filmed on a mobile phone.
Shocking video footage shows the 24-year-old victim being beaten up inside a property on Burnand Street in Anfield, at around 10pm on Tuesday, March 2.
Merseyside Police said two women have been arrested in connection with the assault.
A 19 year-old woman from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of s47 assault, blackmail, theft, criminal damage and racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment.
A 21-year-old woman from Liverpool has also been arrested on suspicion of theft and assisting an offender.
Both remain in custody for questioning and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
The harrowing footage, which is two minutes and 19 seconds long, appears to have been taken by a woman who can be heard encouraging the attack.
In the footage, she shouts to the woman carrying out the assault "get her in the face", "get her right in the back" and "whack her head off the stairs".
At least three other bystanders appear to be present in the footage and can be seen looking on as the attack takes place with music blaring in the background.
The victim is filmed cowering on the floor in tears as she tries to protect her face by covering it with her coat.
At one point, she tries to get to her feet before she's kicked in the face and grabbed by the hair.

The woman filming the footage can then be heard telling the victim to say sorry to the attacker before a drink - which is said to have been vodka, is thrown over her.
The sound of smashed glass can be heard in the footage as it's thrown in the victim's direction, who says: "I'm going to my mum's."
As she gets to her feet and starts to leave the house, the woman filming shouts "get out girl, run, run, run" and follows her outside into the street.
Merseyside Police said the the victim made off on foot and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
She was left incredibly shaken by the incident and an investigation is ongoing.
Detective Inspector Paul Jones said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances, and I am keen to speak to anyone who has any information.
“If you witnessed the incident, or have any CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know. Any information, no matter how small, could prove vital to the investigation.”
