One woman, who claims that she waxes her top lip monthly, was horrified when she completed the task a few days before her birthday, only to realise that she'd sustained a "chemical burn" from the product, leaving her with a red mustache.
Mary, who posts on TikTok as @mazza.h began the video by completely covering her top lip with her hand.
In the video, she mentioned that it was her birthday, which made the situation a lot worse.
Mary claimed that she waxes her top lip "monthly, with no impact", but joked that her body sensed it was her birthday, so decided to be sensitive.
She said: "I used a finishing wipe, and as soon as I put that finishing wipe on, something didn't feel right, and I've woken up this morning..."
Mary then moved her hand away from her mouth to reveal that she had a very sore and painful-looking mustache, stating that it was a chemical burn.
She captioned the video: "I DON'T OWN SUDOCREM SO NOW WHAT."
In the comments, people were suggesting remedies, with one writing: "The joys of masks still being fairly normal is that you can cover it whilst you go out and scavenge for something to help haha."
"Antihistamines and an ice pack might work", another suggested.
Someone else commented: "I audibly laughed out loud...I feel so bad", followed by crying emojis.
