The hot weather means that more men and women will be walking around with their tops off.
Last week, temperatures hit highs of 35C and you might have seen some people ripping their clothes to escape the heat.
But one woman, Margaret, wrote to Hull Live to express her displeasure at men ditching shirts and scantily clad women “licking at lollies” in public.
She believes that kind of behaviour should be reserved for the beach, park or private gardens – but do you agree?
Read Margaret’s letter in full:
“What a disgusting sight it is to see the semi-clothed, semi-sober and probably, semi-retired folk swarm our streets as soon as the sun comes out.
“I used to enjoy an ice cream and a paddle as much as the next person when I was a little girl. But it was a treat reserved for the beach at Brid, or once a year on a trip to Margate to see my father’s family.
“Now, the moment the clouds break for half an afternoon there seems to be a race to ditch shirts, turn radios to full volume and start licking at lollies and panting up and down the high street.
“I’m all for staying cool and enjoying the fine weather, but who really wants to see burned bodies and lolling tongues when they have popped into town for a bit of shopping?
“Men going topless is different to ladies but shouldn’t there be a ruling that says it is just for the beach, park or private garden?”
