Woman is mum-shamed after sending kids to school with budget packed lunch

A woman has been mum -shamed after posting a picture of her kids ' bargain packed lunched - with some saying it should be 'thrown in the bin'

Christa Spafford shared the packed lunch idea which cost less than £1 and includes pancakes, fruit honey and Nutella.

Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facegroup group, she said: "Packed lunch idea Pancakes Aldi - less than 60p

The mum's budget packed lunch was slammed for being unhealthy (Facebook)

"Fruit- less than 50p, Nutella- £2.99 for 12 in B&M and honey- 24 pots for £3.50 in my local bargain store."

But the mum was shot down in flames after a barrage of criticism from judgey parents who slammed the feast as 'unhealthy'.

one said: "That's quite an unhealthy lunch altho would taste great

Another said: "Too much sweet stuff too for packed lunches."

Another added: ""That would be thrown in the bin! Very unhealthy."

Others were quick to remind the mum that Nutella was a bad choice because most schools have banned it due to nut allergies.

One said: "My school would't allow pancake or Nutella for lunch and not healthy."

Another said: "Most school are anti nut so Nutella is a huge no no."

Another added: "I'm sure most schools are nut free. Anyone eating that near me would risk my health as I'm a severe nut allergy sufferer. Please think of others and remove the Nutella."

However some mums jumped to her defence, blasting the "Karens and Susans" in the comments.

Once said: "1- where is school mentioned?2- who asked for the health benefits of the meal?3- why are there so many judgey perfect parents?

Another said: "What is with all the judgemental posts, get a grip!'

Another said: "She said packed lunch IDEA doesn’t mean you have to bloody do it."

Another added: "Brilliant idea!!!! Shut up about nut allergies now Karens."

The mum later edited her post telling her critics, she was just trying to be helpful.

She said: "You can do this without the Nutella! I understand most schools won't allow so of course no Nutella. But as for the "sugar" content the honey is natural sugars as are the fruit. Please remember its just an idea I'm just trying to help others out."
