Woman injured in West Rogers Park hit-and-run

The woman was hospitalized in serious condition, police said.

She was crossing the street when a red SUV hit her, police said.

A 69-year-old woman is in serious condition after she was hit by a vehicle Tuesday in West Rogers Park, Chicago police said.

She was crossing the street at about 9:55 p.m. in the 7100 block of North Ridge Boulevard when someone driving a red SUV struck her and drove away, Chicago police said.

The woman was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition, police said.

No one is in custody, and Chicago police Major Accidents unit is investigating.
