Woman injured in Meath as man and teen attempt camera snatch in broad daylight

A woman was left with injuries after a teenager and man attempted to snatch a camera from her in broad daylight.

The shocking incident happened on Tuesday along the Royal Canal in Enfield, Co Meath.

A teenager, aged around 15 or 16, and a man in his 20s, managed to escape with a black camera bag with red lining.

The teen was wearing a black jacket, while the man was wearing a mustard coloured hoodie with a red jacket.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí at Trim Garda Station are investigating an incident that took place on 3/11/20 at approximately midday in the vicinity of the Royal Canal/Enfield Leisure Park whereby a female was approached by two males who attempted to forcibly remove a camera from her. These two males subsequently made off with a black camera bag with red lining.

"The female suffered minor injuries. The two males are described as follows. The first male was approximately 15/16 years of age wearing a black jacket. The second male is in his 20's and was wearing a mustard coloured hoodie a red jacket. Gardai are appealing for any eye witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact Trim Garda Station on 046-9481540."
