Woman injured in incident at traveller site attended to by police and air ambulance

A woman was taken to hospital after the emergency services were called to a traveller site in Somerset yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, May 5).

Police officers and paramedics were called to attend reports of a concern for welfare in Roman Way, Glastonbury at around 5pm.

Somerset Live reports that an air ambulance could also been seen landing in a nearby field.

It has since been confirmed that a woman was taken to hospital after being treated at the scene.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called on Tuesday at around 5.10pm about an incident on the Roman Way, Glastonbury.

"Our crews treated one injured patient and took them to hospital for further care."

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary added that the force was called to a concern for welfare and assisted paramedics at the scene.
