Woman injured and pet dies after dog attack on residential street

Police are investigating after a dog attack in Carmarthenshire resulted in a woman being injured and her own pet’s death.

The incident happened in Elfed Street in a residential area of Llanelli.

A 40-year-old woman was bitten by a dog and her own dog, a Lhasa Apso, was also attacked.

The woman suffered minor injuries but her dog also sustained injuries and subsequently died following the incident, which happened at around 8pm on Thursday, March 3.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the attack to come forward.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it police either online by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or by calling 101.”
