A woman was injured in a horror stabbing in Dublin this evening.
Gardai arrested a man at a house on Ave Maria Road, Dublin 8 following the assault shortly after 7.30 pm.
The woman, in her 70s, was treated at the scene for her injuries.
A man in his 70s was arrested at the scene and was brought to Kevin Street Garda station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
A garda spokesman said investigations are ongoing.
