Police are trying to establish how a woman who was a passenger in a van, left the vehicle as it was moving.

The woman, who sustained injuries as she exited the white van on as it drove on Washing Bay Road, Coalisland, remains in hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the moment she left the moving vehicle in a bid to piece together the sequence of events that led up to what they are describing as a road traffic collision.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “ Police in Dungannon investigating a road traffic collision in Coalisland yesterday evening, Friday, 23rd October, are appealing for witnesses.

“The collision on the Washing Bay Road, was reported to police at 5.50pm.

“It was reported that a woman was seen coming out of a white van as it drove.

“The woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained injuries and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains today.”

The PSNI are hoping the moment may have been captured on dashcam footage in other vehicles in the area at the time.

Inspector Fallis is appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dash cam footage of what occurred, to contact police on the non emergency number 101, and quote reference number 1507 of 23/10/20.
