A woman was injured after her car collided with a bus on a major Bristol route.
First West of England tweeted at 2.37pm today (Wednesday, May 20) to say there had been a crash on the A38 Gloucester Road at the junction with Northville Road in Filton.
The bus operator confirmed a road closure was in place and its 75 service had been diverted via Monks Park Road and Southmead Road until further notice.
A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 1.45pm about a collision between a car and bus on Gloucester Road.
“Our crews treated a female patient at the scene and transported her to hospital for further care. Her condition wasn’t thought to be too serious.”
An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: “A woman was taken to hospital with injuries, not reported to be life threatening or life changing.”
Gloucester Road reopened before 4pm.
Following the emergency services' statements, a First Bus spokesman said: “We can confirm that this accident did not involve a bus or any First West of England service."
But a police spokesman then told Bristol Live: "I confirm the statement the ambulance service has given you is accurate and the collision involved a car and a bus.
"The injured woman was in the car."
In a further comment, a First Bus spokesperson clarified none of its services were in the collision, but it is understood a bus run by another operator was involved.
