Woman injured after being struck by bus in Glasgow city centre

A woman has been injured after being hit by a bus in Glasgow city centre.

Paramedics rushed to the scene to treat the woman after the accident on Bath Street at around 12.45pm on Friday.

Police closed the street in both directions as well as Cathedral Street on the westbound side at the junction with North Hanover Street.

Eyewitnesses say buses are being forced to do three-point turns, under the instruction of police, and traffic is taking alternative routes as a result of the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: " Police Scotland is currently in attendance at Cathedral Street, Glasgow after a road traffic collision which happened at 12.45pm today involving a bus and a pedestrian. A woman is being treated by ambulance staff."
