Woman injured after being hit by car outside Wythenshawe Hospital

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside Wythenshawe Hospital.

Emergency responders were scrambled to the entrance of the hospital on Southmoor Road this afternoon (August 17).

A female pedestrian, in her 30s, has been taken to Accident and Emergency for her injuries to be assessed, police confirmed.

Her condition is not thought to be serious.

It is understood the driver stopped at the scene.

Southmoor Road was closed for around an hour on Tuesday afternoon, whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

Local bus services were unable to use the hospital terminus and had to be diverted via Hollyhedge Road.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We responded to reports of the RTC involving a car and a pedestrian.

"A woman in her 30s has gone to hospital."

Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to Southmoor Road to reports of a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

No arrests have been made, they added.
