Woman indecently assaulted while walking to work in Fishponds

Police are appealing for information after a woman was indecently assaulted while walking to work.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was on Thicket Avenue, Fishponds, when she was attacked just after 8.20am today (September 23).

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokeswoman said a man dressed all in black and around 5ft 5ins tall touched the woman outside her clothing.

The boyfriend of the victim posted on the Staple Hill and Mangotsfield Residents Facebook page that she had been "grabbed" at the spot where Thicket Avenue crosses the Bristol and Bath Railway Path.

"She’s currently reporting to the police she’s fine but shaken, but go careful around that area," he wrote.

The force spokeswoman said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could help can get in touch through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101 quoting reference 5219219844.

"Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name or trace your call."
