Woman in tutu punched attendant after ticket dispute on Edinburgh train

British Transport Police in Edinburgh are today appealing for more information following a report of an assault on a train arriving at Edinburgh Waverley last month.

At around 8pm on Friday 28 February a ticket inspector was assaulted after a dispute over a ticket.

The suspect, who was wearing a tutu and a fluffy jacket, is reported to have punched the victim three times in her arm.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault - the incident happened in coach B and the train service was the 7pm service from Glasgow Central to York.

The suspect is described as a woman aged in her 20s, 5ft 6, of a slim build and long black hair.

She was wearing a pink and cream net skirt, a pink fluffy jacket, high heel shoes, and carrying an over the shoulder purse and a small trolley suitcase.

Anyone who knows her is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.

In both cases, quote reference number 565 of 28/02/20.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
