Woman in hospital after van knocks her off bike on rural Scots road

A cyclist is in hospital after being hit by a van on a Scots road.

Police and ambulance crews were sent to the B9097 near Kinross around 1.10pm today after the woman was knocked off her bike by the vehicle.

She was rushed to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where she is being treated for her injuries.

It is unclear at this time how seriously she has been injured.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 1.10pm on Saturday, 10 July, police were called to a report of a female cyclist being struck by a van on the B9097 in Kinross.

"Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment."
