Two in hospital after car flips near White Rose Shopping Centre

Two people escaped with minor injuries after a car flipped onto a roundabout near the White Rose Shopping Centre.

Police and paramedics were called to the roundabout in Millshaw Road at 11.38am on Wednesday, October 2 after the white car overturned.

The driver got out of the crumpled vehicle and was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

A woman was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "We received a call at 11.38am this morning to reports of a car having overturned near the White Rose Shopping centre.

"A female occupant has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary to be checked, but it's thought to be only a minor injury.

"The male driver of the vehicle was also taken to hospital for treatment."

There were 2,000 casualties on roads around Leeds in 2018 and 26 people died in road traffic collisions.
