A woman was taken to hospital after the car she was driving crashed, flipped onto its roof and careered into a bus stop.
The incident happened at about 3.40pm today on Town Meadow Lane, Moreton, Wirral, and brought emergency services rushing to the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
The woman was taken to hospital, but police said she was not seriously injured.
Investigations are still at an early stage, so it is currently unclear as to how the Audi ended up on its roof.
The adjacent Merseytravel bus stop had suffered damage after it was hit during the smash.
Part of the yellow seating had broken along and parts of the bus stop were strewn on the pavement.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said Town Meadow Lane was closed for a period of time, near to its junction with Mill House Lane.
