An elderly woman has been rushed to hospital following a crash in Leigh.
The woman, in her late 80s was involved in a collision outside the Shepherd's Inn Pub on St Helens Road this afternoon.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the street was closed to traffic from around 2.20pm.
However, the woman's injuries are not believed to have been serious.
A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service said:"We were called at 2.21 to St Helens Road in Leigh.
"We attended with an ambulance and two rapid response vehicles We have taken a female patient to hospital, she's in her late 80s."
The road was closed around 2.30pm and has since reopened.
But, the closure has caused some traffic jams in the area with cars moving slowly along and queues up to Newton Road.
There are also delays on Atherleigh Way partly as a result of a road closure between Kirkhall Lane and Lovers Lane.
The Manchester Evening News has approached Greater Manchester Police for comment on the crash.
