Woman in her 80s remains at QMC after being hit by van

A woman in her 80s who was hit by a van remains in Queen's Medical Centre where she is said to be in a serious condition.

The incident happened outside the Royal Derby Hospital at about 2.20pm on Monday (January 20).

Derbyshire Police, the force investigating the crash, said the woman was hit by a Fiat Doblo van.

She is being treated at the QMC as the centre has a specialist unit.

DC Richard Marshall, of Derbyshire Constabulary, said: “We want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision - or anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dash cam footage.”

Anyone with information that may help the investigation can contact the force on 101, quoting reference 20*037340.

Witnesses can also contact the police via Facebook, Twitter and on the force's website.
