Police have rescued a woman in her 70s who was stuck in her bath with no food for eight days.
Officers were called to a property yesterday after concerns were raised about the elderly woman’s welfare.
Members of Leicestershire Police’s response team forced their way into her Loughborough home yesterday afternoon and discovered the woman trapped in her tub.
Officers said the woman had access to tap water, but was unable to get any food, reports Leicestershire Live .
Officers tweeted that they had managed to get the woman, who is in her 70s, out of the bath, and that paramedics had been called to carry out medical assessment.

“Although hungry she is okay," they added.

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: "Police received a call yesterday morning (20 November from a member of the public regarding a concern for welfare of a resident at an address in Loughborough.
"Officers attended the address and after forcing entry found the resident, the woman in her late seventies, in the bath unable to get out. It is believed she has been there up to eight days.
"Officers assisted the woman out of the bath and colleagues from East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) attended the address to take the woman to hospital for further assessment."
