Woman in her 30s knocked off bike in town centre

A woman in her 30s was knocked off her bike in Southport last night.

Police confirmed a person was knocked from their bike by a Hyundai at the junction of Church Street and Union Street on Tuesday, August 17.

Police were called to the scene at around 6.35pm last night, with the driver stopping at the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital with slight injuries following the incident.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO: "We were called to the junction of Church Street and Union Street around 6.35pm, to a collision between a Hyundai car and bicycle, rider had slight injury only and driver stopped at the scene"
