A woman has been found dead at a house in Stockport, police said.
Officers were called to Councillor Lane in Cheadle on Saturday night after they received a report of 'concern for the welfare of a woman'.
There they found the body of a woman, thought to be aged in her 30s.
Police remain at the property today while investigations continue.
They were originally called at 9.15pm.
Enquiries into the cause of the woman's death are ongoing.
In a statement, GMP said: "Police were called at 9.15pm on Saturday 4 January 2020 to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at a property on Councillor Lane, Cheadle.
"Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of a woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, at the scene.
"A scene remains in place at the property while enquiries into the circumstances of her death remain ongoing."
