Woman in her 30s falls from window at block of flats

A woman has been rushed to hospital after falling from the window of a block of flats in St Helens.

Emergency services were called to Liverpool Street, St Helens, to after a woman fell from the window of a block of flats on Tuesday afternoon.

The air ambulance, one rapid response paramedic and an ambulance were sent to the scene of the fall to treat the woman, who is believed to be in her 30s.

According to witnesses at the scene the woman fell from the three storey block of flats on the corner of Glover Street and Liverpool Street.

The woman was reportedly carried into the ambulance wearing a neck brace before she was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

North West Ambulance Service confirmed that two vehicles, along with the air ambulance, had been dispatched to the incident after they received a call at 12.10pm.

Police said they were called following concerns over the welfare of a woman shortly before 1pm on Tuesday.

An investigation has been launched into the full circumstances around the incident.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Liverpool Road, St Helens at around 12.50 this afternoon (30th June) following reports of a concern for safety of a woman.

"The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment injuries believed to have been sustained after falling from a window.

"Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident."
