Woman in her 30s dies in house fire after blaze rips through home - police launch probe

A woman in her 30s has died following a house fire ripped through a house in North Wales

Police are investigating the incident after they were called out to the scene in Flintshire at 1.30am on Sunday

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene on Moor Lane in Holywell, a spokesman for North Wales Police said.

The force said she was the only occupant of the property, reports North Wales Live.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it was alerted at 1.13am.

Three crews from Holywell, Mold and Flint went to the scene, which is on the Holway estate, and left the scene at 4.23am.

The spokesman said: "A joint investigation between North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police is now under way to establish what happened.

"Our thoughts remain with the woman's family at this difficult time."

Officers said her next of kin have bene informed.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

A video of the scene published by North Wales Live shows an almost deserted street with a police van parked outside.

A forensic officer can be spotted walking behind the police van.
